The MoatLab research group at Virginia Tech centers on core systems research in Memory Systems, Operating Systems, System Architecture, and sTorage Systems. We design and build high-performance, efficient, and scalable computer systems that address real-world challenges in modern datacenters and cloud platforms. Our research encompasses memory management, storage optimization, software/hardware co-design, emerging technologies like CXL, and disaggregated architectures.
